Ali Imran is a senior technology, cybersecurity and risk management professional with over 21 years of experience across the banking, government and telecommunications sectors. He currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at United Bank Limited (UBL), providing strategic leadership in cybersecurity governance, enterprise risk management and cyber resilience, and advising senior management and the Board on technology and cybersecurity risks. Previously, he served as Head of Information Security / CISO at BankIslami Pakistan Limited and held senior cybersecurity and digital forensics positions at NADRA and the National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes (FIA). He holds an MSc in Information Security with Distinction from Royal Holloway, University of London, and is a CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC and CGEIT certified professional.

Jafar Khan, CFA has over 25 years of experience investing, managing and advising on client assets across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Pakistan.
He currently serves as an Executive Director at Al-Hilal Securities Advisors, where he advises clients on asset allocation, private credit and equities. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer of the Asset Management Department at GIB Capital in Saudi Arabia, where he managed equity, fixed income and money market strategies for institutional and high-net-worth clients.
Prior to GIB Capital, Jafar spent more than seven years at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) as Deputy Head of MENA & GCC Equities, where he led a team of portfolio managers and analysts investing across the GCC, MENA and Pakistan markets.
Earlier in his career, Jafar held senior roles at HSBC Saudi Arabia, Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia and MCB Asset Management. At HSBC Saudi Arabia, he led the mutual funds business and oversaw Saudi, GCC, sector-focused, income and global investment strategies. At Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia, he co-managed the Saudi Equity Strategy and helped build the firm’s broader MENA research capabilities. At MCB Asset Management, he served as Chief Investment Officer, helping structure, launch and manage mutual funds.
Jafar is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA in Finance and a BBA (Hons) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. He has also served as Director and Treasurer of CFA Arabia and CFA Association Pakistan. Currently he is working as chief executive of Sage Consultants & Advisors (Private) Limited, an independent financial consulting firm advising to various market entities on regulatory and business affairs, and product structuring. Earlier he was Chairperson Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
He has to his credit end-to-end digitalisation of company incorporation; testing of innovative products and services under first Regulatory Sandbox in Pakistan; introduction of framework for online-only brokers, shariah-compliant brokers and agri-only category of commodity futures brokers, and framework for digital lending NBFCs; listing of Government Debt Securities (GDS) at PSX; transition from T+2 to T+1 settlement cycle at PSX; integration of three stock exchanges; divestment of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) shares to strategic investors; creation of central counter party at the clearing company; reclassification of PSX to MSCI emerging market index; drafting and post promulgation implementation of Securities Act’2015 and Futures Market Act’2016; launch of investor education program – Jama Punji; development of collateral management concept and regulatory framework; automation of CGT regime for capital market; proposing fundamental revamp of Companies Act with an aim of digitalisation and ease of doing business – acknowledged by the Prime Minister of Pakistan; and drafting revamp of Insurance Ordinance, Modaraba Ordinance, and Audit Oversight framework.

Throughout his career, he has strengthened investment processes, enhanced operational efficiency, and contributed to the growth and stability of multiple asset management companies.
Before rejoining UBL Funds, Mr. Imran served as Chief Investment Officer at Faysal Funds, where he led the investment function and guided the overall fund management mandate. He previously headed the Investment Advisory division at UBL Funds, designing client-centric investment strategies and supporting institutional and retail portfolios. His leadership experience also includes serving as Chief Investment Officer at both HBL Asset Management and ABL Asset Management, further broadening his expertise across diverse teams and asset classes.

Before that, he was associated with Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) as Head of Software Development. During his stint at PMEX, Mr. Siddiqui played an instrumental and leading role in designing and developing the Futures and Derivatives Trading System which is implemented to date.

His career encompasses a variety of key roles in the financial sector, including Head of Compliance at HBL Asset Management and Chief Internal Auditor at ABL Asset Management. He has also served as Deputy Director in the Monitoring & Inspection Wing at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, along with managerial positions at Sui Southern Gas Company Limited and Deloitte Pakistan, where he completed four years of CA training at Ernst & Young.
With extensive experience in Asset Management Companies, Mutual Funds, Leasing Companies, Investment Banks, and Modarabas, Mr. Mubeen is adept at navigating the complexities of the industry.
